Minutes from August 2009 Meeting

Place:   Al & Becky's, Rogersville, MO

6:48pm opened by Jay Myers and Maryann took notes. Mentioned to club about Kathy Duff friend that had missed a chemo treatment and had no way to get to Tulsa and it was a life or death situation. Groove voted to give $300 for gas etc... The Duffs also had her car fixed out of their pocket so she could get to Tulsa. Also mentioned Barbs Dads death and Cylenda Gayle Viles death also. They have been sponsors of Groove for over six years or so and ran the business of BJs trophy shop. July BBQ party review etc.. Also talked about a blood drive in K-mart parking and a visit to senior citizen center somewhere. Recommendations to have more cruise in’s like at Braum’s and Steak-n-Shake. We had potential new members that wanted to ride with our group to drive in so I explained what Groove was all about.

Review of checks written, news letter cost and possible a ballot in next news letter for new ideas, events questions, times and days. We will decide in January. Ideas for theme of next year’s show will vote at Halloween meeting for them and told everyone to think hard and bring their thoughts to meeting.

Next meeting the 12th of Sept meeting at 160 and 123 in Willard at noon and leave for Mutton Creek. Also still wear your crazy hat for contest. Rob Davis will be playing in his band that evening. (surprise him, it’s his 40th b-day). Next event is Eureka Springs then Tulsa show in Sept. Look into cost of polo shirt for club.

Insurance already paid for next year, reviewed other payments & balance.

Groove’s next event will be the Halloween party at Al and Becky’s the 10th of Oct. Meeting adjourned at 7:48 (Mary Ann & Jay)
